Here’s to a 2016 full of health, happiness, inner peace, and prosperity! Happy New Year to you.
What are your favorite New Year’s Day meal traditions? Where I come from, the traditional New Year’s Day meal is pork & sauerkraut. (Being vegan, pork is out of the question, but I do have the sauerkraut! Might make some bobalky later.) Where we live now, the tradition is collards & black-eyed peas. (But I haven’t been able to like the taste of either one of those.) So we will begin our own tradition: some kind of sauerkraut recipe, Pineapple Stuffing, and probably Teriyaki Chickpeas with Kale. Or maybe we’ll just go out for pizza. 😉

In all seriousness, I haven’t actually made a list of resolutions this year. I have that bad habit of never following through… so this year, I have a list of aspirations. Among them are the usual: to eat healthier (again), to start running (again), to improve my spending patterns (again). (See what I mean?) But also, my biggest: to make writing a bigger part of my daily routine. I am ready to move beyond my little-hobby-on-the-side.
What about you? What do you hope to see for yourself in 2016?
I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve, whether out with friends or in your jammies at home (like me!) all warm and toasty. To start off 2016, I just posted a short story, “Christmas Magic.” Check it out here. Have a happy, healthy start to the new year today!
